Still Water
Still Waters the clear calm water near the canoe launch and Lilioukalani Gardens Hilo Hawaii
The Trade Winds have returned fully in the past few days bring rain and clear air and a settling force on the waves in the bay area. I went for lunch on thursday and took about 100 photos of Lilioukalani park and the surrounding area. I realzed that I have never posted photos of this lovely park on the blog so we will see a few of them in the comming days.
I am feeling better. We "moved" today out of the shop. The van came and moved the safe and the heavy glass cabinet as well as my delicate items like my chinese furniture and the computer and printer. Boxes of stuff that we werent about to move ourselves.. We are now down to one car. Woody sold his Toyota. so we are driving the Chrysler. I have "for sale" signs in the window and drooling males keep looking at it, (show me the money dearlings and you can have a test drive...) So it was worth it to have the move done. this is the same crew that will be comming in the next few weeks to pack up what we have left of our house hold stuff... I was glad to meet thim and feel good about them handling my things.
A number of people have heard about the "fragments", and mourned the loss of some of the most coveted lights in town... Margeret of Phoenix Rising, a reader of mine called me and said she knew how I felt and it was ok to be broken up about it. Woody and I went to see her today to say good bye and she gave him a killer deal on some stuff that I have been looking at. At cost surely, I think he paid only a fraction of list on it. lovely glass wear for my new home where ever it is...
"Wherever it is"... People that have lived in Hilo all of their lives say that with such longing... Rooted and grounded in this place and knowing nothing else many believe that the mainland is the place to be and there is some truth to that. Especially as far as jobs and fast tracking to "sucess" what ever that is... So our adventure is exciting and exotic to them. Middle America is a Shangra-la of places and ideas only seen on TV ( we see the same commercials that you do with disclamers of "not available in Hawaii"...UGH) People come back with tales of Cracker Barrels and In and Outs along with Disney World and endless highways... My small amount of traveling has made for good story telling to the local ladies that came into the store...
We are having difficulty with our buyer. For a clean deal she wants a lot of things done and she is set on having my lace curtains that Aunt Jean gave me that were supposed to be in the disclaimer but werent. I have them down and replaced with Wal Mart, made in China panel lace. Pretty and fluffy...but not the cotton made to last beauties that I love. Woody, already miffed at her, told our agent... "She can go with whats now on there, or she can buy another house..." We are getting phone calls at all hours from this phone interview place she works for seems she gave them our number and they think she lives here...
Seller not amused, bring on next buyer...
Another Real Estate Agent came into the store on the last evening and wants to buy our dining room suite. I am thrilled for her and hope this works out...
Anyone out there live in Florida? Sarasota? We have a offer to sell us a MFG home in a 55+ community there very cheaply. Its fully furnished and its got Woody all fired up. I told him I'd ask in Blogger land. We are looking at employment rates and such. Looks very interesting to me. Hey Im open as long as its close to the beach, if not more talking must be done and considerations made.
looking forward to a rest for a day or two and then its pack and sort and toss time again!
