The Sounds of Silence
Rainbow Falls state park Hilo Hawaii
I sold the fountain in the hall... I miss the sounds of water falling into the bowls drowning out the undesireable noises, like boom box cars and the sounds of my athsmatic breathing...
The cats think the world is comming to an end as familiar object vanish while they sleep never to return, like the old mahogany buffett out on the lanai that they jumped up on and slept on, now the fountain that they like to drink from... Wait until its us... I worry about them...we will be apart for a long time...
It is so quiet in here I can hear the shifting of hard drive "gears" or what ever that is inside of my hard drive...
and the sound of the wind blowing in the leaves on the trees
and the creaking of Ohia braches as the rub together
and now the tiny frogs each species making its own music
and the russle of cat bells
Woody tossing in bed
and the ice maker
I look around and wonder at how much I have given away sold and tossed and know that more must come. I hug a kitty and get back to work...
