Three Steps forward, Two Steps Back
Evening Surf Punalu'u Beach Park
Well... we are doing well things are going forward at some levels and backwards in others... The things from the house are selling and people are carting them off, but the escrow fell through today on the house. No matter really. It goes back on active but its been off the market a month and the obnoxiousness and difficulties surrounding the whole thing just make it hard to cope with.
We are also having some difficulties with some of the handshake deals we made over the disposal of the property from the store. The guy is now balking at paying for the lights he trashed and cannot understand why he needs to pony up for his share of the moving expenses for his 1000 pound safe and a 48"X48" all glass showcase...You need a moving crew for this stuff and I told him Id line one up, not pay for it all . "we dont have that kind of money..." Uggh! I am not kidding.
This something for nothing mentality is found all over. The reason the house deal fell through was that they really wanted us to lower the price by an additional 10,000, as "they dont have a lot of money..." So we do? and we need to give them some? (Dont buy a house in Hawaii fools!) Where in heck were all of these beggers when we were down and out and losing our house last summer? Did anyone offer us money? No they treated us like leapers. Or were right there waiting with their hands out. We sold stuff to keep going and we are still selling stuff at pennines on the dollar so we can get out of here.
Woody leaves on the 8th for Florida. Surprisingly I feel pretty good about this. I think that this may be a good place for us, as much as I like
This place in Conroe,
or this one or this one or
this place in Galveston,or this one or this one,
or even this one..I like Galveston a lot...can you tell?
or
this one in Eureka Springs,
or this one ....and this one in Hot Springs Village Arkansas. ( we are going to spend a few days there too)
I cant explain it. I hope that its not just the price or the beach that drives me...(Siesta Key Beach is just down the road a few miles)
I can never say that " I spent all of my life dreaming of living in Hawaii" or any other place for that matter and think that I can ajust to what ever, God willing. I am trying to keep an open mind.
We have been enriching the Hilo landfill with bags and bags of stuff. I am pleases to see so much stuff go and the imagined pile to load get smaller and smaller. Rooms are emptying out and boxes are being filled I have found some interesting things and while Woody is gone I will be making a concerted effort to get a lot of crap out of here that we dont need.
Three Steps forward and Two steps back eventually we will get there...
