A Glimpse of Home
The Mini Park accross the street from the new house...
It was a sullen grey day, full of rain and blustry cold, but I didnt mind. It was damp on my new lanai, the wind blowing through the oak leaves showering me with huge droplettes through the screen. The wind in the trees sounded like the ocean's roar, and smelled like the breath of Heaven...It was like God speaking saying "Welcome to you home in the forest."
We were at the house today having contractors come in to give estimates on the items that will need to be fixed. A neighbor has graciously given us access, and to just sit in there and think about how far we have come has really helped me to pull out of the funk.
I took the car out to get lunch, and got lost and spent two hours driving around the Bella Vista Subdivision, looking at the golf courses and lake parks. I am amazed...So is Woody, who wondered why it took me two hours to get to the Sonic Burger and back..."Hoku, you need to get out and drive more more..." Our agent gave me a map.
I can see where the furniture will go,how nearly all of it fits... How my ideas will take shape in a subtile remodel of the master bathroom, and enjoying the beautiful forested back yard, with its abundant wildlife. I feel really good about this place and can only pray that this is the begining of a homecomming for both Woody and myself...
