I want to thank Keali'i Reichel for blessing me today with a rendition of this song on his CD "Kawaipunahele"... Written by Dr.Ysaye Maria Barnwell, it is a song that touches that part of each of us that wants or wants to give "mothering"... Although Dr. Barnwell is not Hawaiian, I believe that she speaks to the soul of the Kama'aina, those of us that feel drawn to the land and how the land is a nurturing mother of sorts. We are nurtured by our past, for good or ill...If ill then let us find the good...
