Awoke this morning
to sounds of thunder
lightning flashed
in the bright sunshine
Squirrels dancing
with the blue jays
among the oak leaves
Chasing tails in the rain
Kitties greeting me
purring, rubbing, talking
waiting for breakfast
watching the squirrels
Driving on the narrow road
a noontime narrow escape
a doe and day old spotted fawn
Narrowly miss our car bumper
Meetings greetings handshakes
talking story with
tradesmen,neighbors,servers
and friends newly made
Drive the long way home,
learn a new road
prepare a meal for two
eat in silence alone
Writing, blogging, reading
evening chores, bathing
lap time with Nani
Our hour of time with God
Turn off the lights
Close the day
with pray and praise
alone in the night.
