"The Disengagement"... A photo poem
The Disengagement.
The thought is beyond him
This exile, this expulsion
From the Promised Land
The Place of Sanctuary
.
.
Gush Katif, his parents home,
Neve De Kalim, the white sand beach
Bounds the seas that hold his heart,
in the waves, in the blue white foam!
.
.
His parents came here as refugees
from the pullout of the Sinai, a refuge
For their parents, refugees that came
Fleeing Nazi flames
.
.
Now the place offered in exchange
for homes abandoned "in the name of peace"
Must be destroyed,abandoned
For a peace that never comes
.
.
As he walks the deserted streets
Empty houses cruelly marked with
Black crosses for destruction,
By the order of "The Butcher"
.
.
Solders, with their guns patrol,
Routing looting Arabs,once neighbors
searching the empty homes, robbing
Tombs painted with orange smiley faces
.
.
He wonders of the future, his own
as well as his native land
Where will it end, this peace for land?
At the stones of the Wailing Wall?

Must the Peace of Jerusalem come at the cost of Israel's Sovereignty?... I say no and pray for an end to the hostilities directed at the Jewish State!
