Beyond Imagining
written 8-31-05 am
It has come
We looked at the photos of the Christmas Tsunami in wonder... How could this be? The destruction and devestation could only happen in places not as developed as we in America...
We kid ourselves. In the face of natural disaster, we are all weak humans in the face of the storm...
For Katrina, of mighty wind and pounding rain seemed to home in on the weakest link, and the compound disasters threaten the very fabric of life here. Make no mistake, the fallout from this catastrophe will fall on all of us. Illnesses, like historic plauge... housing...has America has such refugees since the Dust Bowl? Where will they go?
I found myself in prayer, first thanking God that we didnt move to Galveston, or Gulfport, or any of the little communities that were reccomended to us along the Gulf Shoreline...even Florida...remember how we wanted to go there... I am so thankful, and horrified by the suffering that is occuring as I write this
As Alabama's Governor said, we must hope in God, and she just quoted Psalm 46 which I will post Sunday. It is all we can do. If you can give money and blood to the Red Cross if you can.
