    Flashing brilliant colors of white and gold
    In the shadow box of the Southern Plains.

    Cool northern air strikes hot southern skies
    Pouring rain, hail and chilling winds
    Drenching the earth with cooling
    Changing the climate of the mountains

    Within a day, a striking change
    Foliage turning gold in the chill air
    Autumn enters with sudden aplom
    When all Nature's caught Showing Off
