    Ezekiel 18:21-28~ SubmissionTo Temporal Authorities

    Tablerock Lake near Siligman MO

    “But if a wicked person turns away from all his sins that he has committed and keeps all my statutes and does what is just and right, he shall surely live; he shall not die.None of the transgressions that he has committed shall be remembered against him; for the righteousness that he has done he shall live.Have I any pleasure in the death of the wicked, declares the Lord God, and not rather that he should turn from his way and live? But when a righteous person turns away from his righteousness and does injustice and does the same abominations that the wicked person does, shall he live? None of the righteous deeds that he has done shall be remembered; for the treachery of which he is guilty and the sin he has committed, for them he shall die.

    “Yet you say, ‘The way of the Lord is not just.’ Hear now, O house of Israel: Is my way not just? Is it not your ways that are not just? When a righteous person turns away from his righteousness and does injustice, he shall die for it; for the injustice that he has done he shall die. Again, when a wicked person turns away from the wickedness he has committed and does what is just and right, he shall save his life. Because he considered and turned away from all the transgressions that he had committed, he shall surely live; he shall not die.

    Psalm 25~Teach Me Your Paths

    Country Barn near Gateway MO

    A Psalm Of David.

    To you, O Lord, I lift up my soul.
    O my God, in you I trust;
    let me not be put to shame;
    let not my enemies exult over me.
    Indeed, none who wait for you shall be put to shame;
    they shall be ashamed who are wantonly treacherous.

    Make me to know your ways, O Lord;
    teach me your paths.
    Lead me in your truth and teach me,
    for you are the God of my salvation;
    for you I wait all the day long.

    Remember your mercy, O Lord, and your steadfast love,
    for they have been from of old.
    Remember not the sins of my youth or my transgressions;
    according to your steadfast love remember me,
    for the sake of your goodness, O Lord!

    Good and upright is the Lord;
    therefore he instructs sinners in the way.
    He leads the humble in what is right,
    and teaches the humble his way.
    All the paths of the Lord are steadfast love and faithfulness,
    for those who keep his covenant and his testimonies.

    For your name's sake, O Lord,
    pardon my guilt, for it is great.
    Who is the man who fears the Lord?
    Him will he instruct in the way that he should choose.
    His soul shall abide in well-being,
    and his offspring shall inherit the land.
    The friendship of the Lord is for those who fear him,
    and he makes known to them his covenant.
    My eyes are ever toward the Lord,
    for he will pluck my feet out of the net.

    Turn to me and be gracious to me,
    for I am lonely and afflicted.
    The troubles of my heart are enlarged;
    bring me out of my distresses.
    Consider my affliction and my trouble,
    and forgive all my sins.

    Consider how many are my foes,
    and with what violent hatred they hate me.
    Oh, guard my soul, and deliver me!
    Let me not be put to shame, for I take refuge in you.
    May integrity and uprightness preserve me,
    for I wait for you.

    Redeem Israel, O God,
    out of all his troubles.

    Deuteronomy 15:1-11~ Dealing Rightly With The Poor

    Summer Skies near Noel MO

    How God's People Must Deal With the Poor Among Them

    "At the end of every seventh year you must cancel your debts. This is how it must be done. Creditors must cancel the loans they have made to their fellow Israelites. They must not demand payment from their neighbors or relatives, for the Lord's time of release has arrived. This release from debt, however, applies only to your fellow Israelites-not to the foreigners living among you. There should be no poor among you, for the Lord your God will greatly bless you in the land he is giving you as a special possession. You will receive this blessing if you carefully obey the commands of the Lord your God that I am giving you today. The Lord your God will bless you as he has promised. You will lend money to many nations but will never need to borrow! You will rule many nations, but they will not rule over you!
    "But if there are any poor people in your towns when you arrive in the land the Lord your God is giving you, do not be hard-hearted or tightfisted toward them. Instead, be generous and lend them whatever they need. Do not be mean-spirited and refuse someone a loan because the year of release is close at hand. If you refuse to make the loan and the needy person cries out to the Lord, you will be considered guilty of sin. Give freely without begrudging it, and the Lord your God will bless you in everything you do. There will always be some among you who are poor. That is why I am commanding you to share your resources freely with the poor and with other Israelites in need.

    1 Peter 1:13- 25~ Our Living Hope

    Spring Field Flowers near Pineville MO

    1 Peter 1:13-25

    We Are Called to Be Holy

    Therefore, preparing your minds for action, and being sober-minded, set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ. As obedient children, do not be conformed to the passions of your former ignorance,but as he who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct,since it is written, “You shall be holy, for I am holy.”And if you call on him as Father who judges impartially according to each one's deeds, conduct yourselves with fear throughout the time of your exile,knowing that you were ransomed from the futile ways inherited from your forefathers, not with perishable things such as silver or gold,but with the precious blood of Christ, like that of a lamb without blemish or spot.He was foreknown before the foundation of the world but was made manifest in the last times for your sake,who through him are believers in God, who raised him from the dead and gave him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God.

    Having purified your souls by your obedience to the truth for a sincere brotherly love, love one another earnestly from a pure heart,since you have been born again, not of perishable seed but of imperishable, through the living and abiding word of God;for

    “All flesh is like grass
    and all its glory like the flower of grass.
    The grass withers,
    and the flower falls,
    but the word of the Lord remains forever.”

    And this word is the good news that was preached to you

    Genesis 18~ The Old Testament Trinity

    Country Lane Near Seneca Missouri

    Genesis 18

    1And the Lord appeared to him by the oaks of Mamre, as he sat at the door of his tent in the heat of the day.He lifted up his eyes and looked, and behold, three men were standing in front of him. When he saw them, he ran from the tent door to meet them and bowed himself to the earth and said, “O Lord, if I have found favor in your sight, do not pass by your servant. Let a little water be brought, and wash your feet, and rest yourselves under the tree, while I bring a morsel of bread, that you may refresh yourselves, and after that you may pass on—since you have come to your servant.” So they said, “Do as you have said.” And Abraham went quickly into the tent to Sarah and said, “Quick! Three seahs of fine flour! Knead it, and make cakes.”And Abraham ran to the herd and took a calf, tender and good, and gave it to a young man, who prepared it quickly.Then he took curds and milk and the calf that he had prepared, and set it before them. And he stood by them under the tree while they ate.

    They said to him, “Where is Sarah your wife?” And he said, “She is in the tent.”The Lord said, “I will surely return to you about this time next year, and Sarah your wife shall have a son.” And Sarah was listening at the tent door behind him. Now Abraham and Sarah were old, advanced in years. The way of women had ceased to be with Sarah. So Sarah laughed to herself, saying, “After I am worn out, and my lord is old, shall I have pleasure?” The Lord said to Abraham, “Why did Sarah laugh and say, ‘Shall I indeed bear a child, now that I am old?’ Is anything too hard for the Lord? At the appointed time I will return to you about this time next year, and Sarah shall have a son.”But Sarah denied it, saying, “I did not laugh,” for she was afraid. He said, “No, but you did laugh.”

    Then the men set out from there, and they looked down toward Sodom. And Abraham went with them to set them on their way.The Lord said, “Shall I hide from Abraham what I am about to do,seeing that Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him? For I have chosen him, that he may command his children and his household after him to keep the way of the Lord by doing righteousness and justice, so that the Lord may bring to Abraham what he has promised him.”Then the Lord said, “Because the outcry against Sodom and Gomorrah is great and their sin is very grave,I will go down to see whether they have done altogether according to the outcry that has come to me. And if not, I will know.”
